Laurent Buffat MD PhD is the President, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of AltraBio. Prior to founding AltraBio, Dr Buffat was the Chief Scientific Officer of IT.Omics, a European bioinformatics company. Previously, he was head of the biostatistics and bioinformatics division of ValiGen Inc. and CSO of Valigen SA, a Euro-American biotechnology company. Dr Buffat obtained his PhD in biostatistics and biomathematics at the University Paris 7 (Denis Diderot University) and his M.D. at University Lyon 1 (Claude Bernard University). He has also a DEA in biomedical science, a joint program of the Lyon and Grenoble universities. Recently, he has attended an executive education program in Entrepreneurial Leadership at EM-Lyon, one of the foremost European business schools.
Simon de Bernard PhD (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, the most prestigious engineering school (Grande Ecole) in France. He is the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of AltraBio. He brings over six years of experience in industrial biotechnology research (Project Manager at ValiGen France, Paris and Senior Project Manager, IT.Omics, Lille, France).
Pavel Hradecky MD is the Biomedical Research Director of AltraBio. He obtained his medical degree from Charles University in Prague, followed by postdoctoral resesarch training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. As a member of FlyBase consortium, he worked in the field of genomics of model organisms, focusing on genome annotation and comparative analysis. Subsequently, he served as a senior project leader at IT.Omics with responsibility for biological pathway analysis.
Geneviève Villemagne, Director of Administration, is in charge of financial and administrative management at AltraBio. She obtained her master degrees in Russian Language at the Oriental languages Institute of Paris and in multilingual engineering at the Centre de Recherche en Ingénierie Multilingue. She worked as the administrator of Centre Action Théâtrale Rhône-Alpes.
